UN South-South Multi-stakeholders’ Meeting

This Forum aims to facilitate experience sharing on concrete measures taken by the United Nations system and other multilateral organizations to promote South-South and triangular cooperation. It brings together key partners from national governments, United Nations-system agencies and other multilateral organizations to share their South-South and triangular cooperation business models, programmes and initiatives. This meeting is divided into two sessions:

Session 1: Launch of the South-South Technology Transfer Facility for Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs)

This session will feature the launch of the South-South Technology Transfer Facility for the LLDCs— a joint initiative of the United Nations Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (OHRLLS) and the South-South Global Assets and Technology Exchange (SS-GATE).

Session 2: United Nations System and Other Multilateral Organizations to South-South and Support of the Triangular Cooperation

United Nations system specialized agencies and multilateral organizations will present their good practices and business models in South-South and triangular cooperation. This session includes fi ve presentations, which are organized in three parts as follows:

  1. Strategic Partnerships for the Establishment of Global Centres of Excellence and Knowledge Hubs Presenting Agencies: UNDP, UNIDO
  2. South-South Knowledge Exchange and Innovative Funding Mechanisms Presenting agencies: WB, ADB
  3. South-South Partnership, Knowledge Management and Funding Presenting agency: IFAD
