Government of Kenya to Host Second South-South High-Level Meeting on Oil and Gas Management

In response to the demand from a number of new oil-producing countries and the positive reception given the first South-South High-Level Meeting on Oil and Gas Management held in Doha, Qatar in September 2007, the Government of Kenya will host the second South-South High-Level Meeting in Nairobi from 12 to 15 October 2009. The Meeting will facilitate an exchange of experiences and lessons learned among established and emerging oil and gas producers/countries. It will bring together representatives from approximately 75 developing countries from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. The Meeting is being organized jointly by the Government of Kenya and the Special Unit for South-South Cooperation in UNDP.
