Asia-Pacific

The UNDP Regional Centre in Bangkok has undertaken projects on several key development issues within the Asia and the Pacific region, including disaster risk management, post-crisis recovery and Internet connectivity. To date, it has directly executed one project and is currently supervising a nationally executed project by the UNDP country office in Afghanistan. The Regional Centre is also supporting a Pacific Connectivity project implemented by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) to increase Internet connectivity in the region. More recently, the Regional Centre has established a partnership with JICA to create a South-South Network for Asia.

The activities of the Regional South-South Unit include project management, advocacy and mainstreaming, representing the Special Unit, supporting country offices and government plans and holding South-South cooperation events.
